Hannah and David’s Musical Wedding
DJ Wedding Disco were delighted to be involved in celebrating the marriage of Hannah and David at Hothorpe Hall.
The couple wanted music to be an integral part of their special day, and we achieved this in a variety of ways.
The music for the civil ceremony was provided via a discrete PA system in the Blue Room using a number of small speakers laid out along the length of the room to ensure an even distribution of sound and avoid the classic “too loud/too quiet” issues with larger speakers.
A second PA system in the Green Room provided subtle background music (retro classics as requested by the bride & groom) during the drinks reception.
A third was installed into the Langton Room to provide music throughout the wedding breakfast and of course to allow radio microphones to be used for the after-dinner speeches.
With such a lot ‘going on’ our own events planner sat down with the toastmaster, registrar and venue’s events manager prior to the arrival of Hannah & David to firm up the timings and running order, and agree a series of cues for the musical elements.
Looking amazing, the bride walked down the aisle to Etta James’ “At Last” and during the signing of the register background level music added to the serenity of the moment. Finally the happy couple returned up the aisle as Mr & Mrs to Powder Fingers’ “Burn Your Name”!
Evening Reception and First Dance
Both Hannah and David were adamant that their evening reception was not “run of the mill” and loved the idea of our Music Video DJ service where the actual videos for the songs played are displayed on a big screen; we made further use of this service by displaying high quality images provided by the photographer during the buffet – to the delight of all of the guests!
First dance was Peter Frampton’s “I love the way” followed by the Moody Blues’ “Nights in white satin” for the bride/father dance.
After the formalities the guests were clearly ready to step it up a notch and party all night long!
Services Provided by DJ Wedding Disco
A face-to-face consultation kicked off our involvement with Hannah and David’s wedding.
We discussed their requirements and fears, and it quickly became apparent that they were in good hands!
Due to the various systems needed a few room measurements were required, and obviously gaining permission from Hothorpe Hall’s Events Manager in respect of a few matters.
Prior to the event we also liaised closely with the videographer, photographer and toastmaster to ensure that everything went smoothly on the day, a fact that was appreciate by all.
The End of the Night
During the consultation meeting Hannah and David told me they were planning to stay at Hothorpe Hall and would be at the party until the end.
The wrap-up was therefore planned as a couple of slow numbers to lull the guests into a false sense of security, then hitting them with an encore in the form of Take That’s “Never Forget”, with all the guests linking arms in a circle around their bride and groom for a rapturous send-off!
