Superb service - plenty of contact in the run-up to the wedding, he liaised with Hall directly to set up, and after trying some different tunes the beginning - found some that all of our family were dancing to and carried on picking tunes that kept on dancing all night long! Absolutely great value and great service.

Hothorpe Hall & The Woodlands

DJ Wedding Disco were delighted to be chosen to provide the disco entertainment at Chris and Rachels wedding hosted at Hothorpe Hall and the Woodlands.

A laid back do…

Initial contact was through email and it was very quickly apparent that the couple were totally relaxed when it came to the music. Our only brief was to play a bit of everything to ensure that all were suitably entertained.

How we did it..

We arrived a couple of hours before our start time so as to enjoy a leisurely setup with plenty of time to programme the lights for the evening. This was all completed by our 1900 start time and as it was a very warm evening almost all of the guests went to enjoy some time in the sun or to go and freshen up so we played lots of low-key background music; a little bit of jazz, modern love songs, some indie and a track or two from Mumford and sons!

First Dance, the bit in the Middle, the Last Dance and ‘One More’

Chris and Rachel chose Rod Stewarts version of ‘Have you ever felt the rain’ as their first dance, given the warm evening and the fact the beautiful couple were not ones for the spotlight this was delayed a couple of times throughout the evening. Eventually the bride and groom gave in to crowd demand allowing us to organise and introduce the first dance.

With no prior requests or strict guidance we didn’t really know what to expect from the guests but boy were they party animals! One lady even demonstrated a first class worm across the dance floor!

80’s and 90’s classics (including party dances such as the macarana) ruled the dance floor following the current trend that seems Wedding Dance Floors are turning their ‘collective backs’ on modern chart music.

For the last dances of the evening we selected what we considered to be fitting tributes to the guests; I had the time of my life and Never Forget!

At the end of the evening Chris and Rachel came to thank me, the pleasure was all mine!

Fantastic DJ. Set up was fab, the DJ looked the part and the music was amazing. The fact that we could choose some of our songs before our big day was a massive bonus. The DJ also took requests on the night. Pre wedding the service was impeccable. The DJ contacted my Elvis impersonator which was a suprise for my Groom and they worked out timings etc between then so I didn't have to worry about the hassle of that. Truly 5 star and would definatley recommend!
